Wild West 5k/NICU Reunion

What a fun filled weekend… Let’s start with Friday the 7th. Well, we did it again another 5k. This one was the Wild West Days of Leeds and it was the first 5k that they have put on so there was not a ton of people, really, there wasn’t I think only 50ish if that.

So, Marty, Jordan and I, Mom and Tom, Jennie, Patrick, Gabriel, and Foster were there from our family and then my work had many others show up. Marty and Jordan are doing an awesome job!! Mart’s time was 24:33, Jordan was 26:59, mine was not the best it was 45:41!!! Jennie’s time was 43:06, Pat and the boys finished at 37:47 and last was mom and Tom at 49:12. It was a beautiful run with Pine Valley Mountain with a touch of snow on top then the picturesque view of Zion. It was breath taking with all of the beauty around us.

Saturday the 8th, was the annual NICU Reunion out at Staheli Farm! It was a great time for the kids to play and for family that have had similar situations to be able to support each other. It make you grateful to see how much your baby has progressed and is touching to see young lives still struggle from the events of their birth. Mom bought all the grandkids pumpkins and it was the year for my kids to want the BIGGEST one they could find… Jennie’s family picked green and orange pumpkins. It was fun to let the kids loose in the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful fall day!!

Later on during the day Jordan played his first basketball game of the season. He really is such a good little athlete. I tell him often that he was blessed with a great gift and to use it not only to bless him but others. He is such a good boy and is turning into a great young man.

Sunday night as a family we finished reading The Boxcar Children. This is becoming my favorite time of the night to snuggle with Jordan and Madison while Korby plays cars. Tonight we get to pick out a new book Jordan said it has to be something to do with Halloween. I am very blessed and I am extremely grateful for these magic moments we spent together as a family…
